Pipe line .

“Right now the tension is increasing and the risk of destabilisation is increasing,” Macron said, according to a simultaneous translation of his remarks after the talks. “Neither Russia nor the Europeans want chaos or instability when nations have already suffered from the [coronavirus] epidemic. So we need to agree on concrete measures.”

Apparently the one who needs to have some chaos somewhere is the current President.

  • Is Russia still moving troops to the Ukraine border? It certainly looks like it. A recent trip by the Guardian to the Voronezh and Kursk regions in Russia found a hive of barely hidden military activity as Russian troops continued to position themselves for a potential assault on Ukraine.

  • What have Nord Stream 2 and gas got to do with the Ukraine standoff?

  • Gas is not just a source of energy, sometimes it is a political weapon. As western countries weigh possible sanctions against Russia for an invasion of Ukraine, the future of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline hangs in the balance.

  • Just a "Terrifying" thought.

Unhinged..

The gimmick this administration started on regarding Russia and Ukraine.
Where is Pelosi when you need her.

Amid unprecedented turmoil among the nation’s political leaders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked the Joint Chiefs chairman to keep an “unstable” President Donald Trump from launching America into surprise military hostilities in his final days in office.

“The situation of this unhinged president could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy,” Pelosi wrote in a letter to House Democrats.
I guess that works for the current unhinged one.

Bully..

Dr. Eric Lander, a top science adviser to President Biden, resigned Monday night. His resignation comes hours after White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed he had been investigated over a complaint that he mistreated staff.

Politico reported on Sunday that an internal White House investigation found that Lander, a Cabinet member, had bullied and demeaned his then-general counsel, Rachel Wallace. Politico reported that a White House investigation had found "credible evidence" that Lander had spoken "harshly and disrespectfully to colleagues in front of other colleagues."

White House reporters pressed Psaki on Monday why Lander had remained in the job when Mr. Biden had pledged to fire any employee "on the spot" if they are disrespectful.

Psaki said Monday that White House officials conveyed directly that "his behavior was inappropriate and the corrective actions that were needed, which the White House will monitor for compliance moving forward."

No Mask..

Gov. Philip D. Murphy of New Jersey, a Democrat who has imposed some of the nation’s most stringent pandemic-related mandates, will no longer require students and school employees to wear masks, signaling a deliberate shift toward treating the coronavirus as a part of daily life.

Mr. Murphy, the vice chairman of the National Governors Association, said on Sunday that he would officially announce the elimination of the mandate on Monday afternoon.

The new policy will take effect the second week of March, two years after New York and New Jersey became early epicenters of a virus that has since mutated and resurged, killing more than 900,000 people nationwide.

The debate over mask wearing in schools has proved one of the most divisive issues in the pandemic, embroiling parents, school boards, teachers and elected officials in caustic clashes over academic loss, protecting public health and individual choice.

Free..

From the western province of Alberta, moving east to Quebec City, and in cities and towns in between, thousands of Canadians have hit the streets in trucks, tractors, cars and on foot to protest the nation's Covid-19 restrictions.

With persistent and noisy horn honking, protesters are demanding governments at all levels lift their health restrictions, including vaccine and mask mandates, lockdowns and restrictions on businesses and gatherings.

The "Freedom Convoy" was initially started by truckers protesting a recent mandate requiring drivers entering Canada to be fully vaccinated or face testing and quarantine requirements. But others have joined the cause. Demonstrators reached Ottawa, Canada's capital, last weekend, and its organizers said the protests will linger there and elsewhere if necessary.

Board Chair and City Council member Diane Deans characterized the protest as an occupation, saying it was an insurrection that was terrorizing residents and was a "threat to democracy."

Defund..

Gov. Cuomo declared gun violence a statewide “disaster emergency” on Tuesday as part of a wide-ranging plan aimed at cracking down on illegal guns and gangs amid a troubling surge in shootings across New York.

Busy..

Kelli Ward, the head of the Arizona Republican Party, is suing the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, seeking to block it from receiving her phone records.

In a suit filed Tuesday evening in Arizona's federal district court, the state GOP chair and her husband, Michael Ward, with whom Kelli Ward owns a medical practice, argued that the subpoena would violate their constitutional rights and their patients' confidentiality.

"Plaintiffs respectfully ask that this Court declare that the Subpoena is a violation of the Plaintiffs' constitutional rights, an overbroad overreach of congressional power for improper purposes, and that this Court quash it, while enjoining Defendants from enforcing the Subpoena or producing any documents in compliance with its demands," the lawsuit reads

The Democrats are struggling with their various investigation. They ran out of impeachments, never wanted to investigate the death of thousands of older Americans in NYS and just chasing a phantom.

Selenium..

A new study demonstrated that mimicking the effect of exercise through dietary selenium supplementation in mice effectively restored neurogenesis and reversed the cognitive decline associated with aging and hippocampal injury. These results provide, for the first time, a molecular mechanism linking exercise-induced changes in plasma selenium levels and the activation of hippocampal stem cells.

So, on those days when you can’t make it to the gym, you might now consider adding these selenium-rich foods to your diet: Brazil nuts, salmon, tuna, halibut, eggs, turkey, cottage cheese, mushrooms, and Navy beans.

Selenium is considered a micromineral, thus very low concentrations of selenium are required in the diet. If you are considering taking supplements, be aware that high doses (> 900 mcg/day) of selenium are toxic and can cause hair loss, abnormal nails, dermatitis, peripheral neuropathy, nausea, diarrhea, tremor blood clotting problems, fatigue, irritability, and a garlic odor of the breath.

This discovery could lead to the use of dietary selenium supplementation to mimic the beneficial effects of exercise on the brain.  Just a thought.
