Mask-less..

The mandatory face mask rule will be lifted beginning on Thursday in England, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Wednesday.

Johnson said that, along with the face mask mandate, COVID-19 passports will no longer be required for large events and gatherings, such as at nightclubs and other venues, the BBC reported. Masks in schools are no longer required and people may return to offices for work.

"We will trust the judgment of the British people and no longer criminalize anyone who chooses not to wear one," he said.

Back to normal life. Just a "hopeful" thought.

Muddy..

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Sunday said President Biden cannot count on him to support "almost any" compromise social spending and climate package the Senate cobbles together, emphasizing that he must review the details of a proposal before deciding if he can vote for it.

Asked by moderator Chuck Todd on NBC's "Meet the Press" if Biden can count on his vote "with almost any compromise" the president arrives at with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Sanders said, "Absolutely not."

"You're going to have to look at what that so-called compromise is. If it's strong, if it protects the needs of working people, if it deals with climate, I'm there. But we have to look at the details of any proposal," he added

Democrats are now considering passing the legislation in sections that have support in the upper chamber. Sanders's comments, however, further muddy the water for Biden's chances of passing one of his marquee bills, putting the senator's support of a final compromise bill in question.

Rivera..

The widow of slain NYPD cop Jason Rivera posted a heartbreaking message to her 22-year-old newlywed husband on Instagram on Sunday — calling him “my beautiful angel.”

Rivera was killed Friday when he and his police partner, Officer Wilbert Mora, allegedly were ambushed by 47-year-old career criminal while responding to a domestic violence dispute, cops have said. A prayer is needed here. Just a thought.

Mora..

NYPD officer Wilbert Mora continues his fight for life this morning after being transferred to NYU Langone Health in Kips Bay.

A police procession accompanied the ambulance carrying Officer Mora Sunday night from Harlem Hospital, and a line of first responders saluted as he arrived on Manhattan's East Side.

The 27-year-old officer, a four-year veteran of the NYPD, suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in the head Friday night in Harlem.

He was responding to a domestic dispute call with his partner, 22-year-old rookie Officer Jason Rivera.
Please say a prayer for this young man. Just a thought.

Cancel..

Chris Cuomo said he advised actor Alec Baldwin not to publicly speak out about cancel culture while the journalist's brother, Andrew Cuomo, was facing a sexual misconduct trial.

Beginning in late 2020, a scandal broke out for Andrew Cuomo, then the governor of New York, when he was accused of sexual misconduct. Chris Cuomo, the former CNN presenter, admitted to advising his brother amid the scandal and utilized his media connections to try to aid the politician.

In his testimony – video released on Thursday – the 51-year-old also revealed that he advised Baldwin, who knows both brothers, not to speak out on cancel culture amid the scandal.

The notion of cancel culture is a variant on the term call-out culture and constitutes a form of boycotting or shunning involving an individual (often a celebrity) who is deemed to have acted or spoken in an unacceptable manner.
