Warn..

Saudi Arabia’s Oil Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman is right to warn of a potential energy crisis resulting from falling investment in fossil fuels.
The prince warned that worldwide oil production could fall by 30 million barrels a day by the end of the decade because there is not enough being spent on the exploration for and development of new resources. That implies production of less than 70 million barrels a day. Less oil will lead to much higher prices.
But his warning isn’t entirely self-serving. Saudi Arabia’s oil riches aren’t open to foreign investors, so his call for more spending is actually aimed at encouraging competition with the kingdom.
This serves as a recognition of two things: First, the world’s need for affordable oil isn’t going to disappear anytime soon; and second, despite its oil reserves, Saudi Arabia can’t supply it all by itself.
Even the International Energy Agency, which has been incorrectly cited as calling for an end to new oil developments, sees oil demand remaining near pre-pandemic levels by 2030.  Just a "Energy" thought.

Short.

The Covid-19 virus and its variants are around for two years. And you see the people standing in long lines for vaccination in the beginning and now for testing.
The politicians are ready to talk, and when it comes to plan an action, it is disastrous. It is one issue after another, talk talk and more talk.

Always a day late and a dollar short.

The city’s response times to medical emergencies have surged to alarming levels in the last month with EMS workers arriving too late to save many dying patients, The Post has learned.

Overwhelmed with coronavirus cases, EMS response times have doubled in the Bronx, Queens, etc. to an excruciating 24 minutes and 55 seconds in March from the month before.

“Some "tax payers for this service" people who could have been saved may die,” an EMS insider said.

The City politicians continue rezone areas of Brooklyn, Queens, etc for building more towers, on an aging roads, swear system,  narrow roads, continue digging street to fix water, gas, swear and cables underground pipes.

Ambulances, fire apparatus and police vehicles are struggling to respond to an emergencies.

Sotrovimab..

For more than a year antibody drugs from Regeneron and Eli Lilly have been the go-to treatments for early COVID-19, thanks to their ability to head off severe disease and keep patients out of the hospital.

But both drugmakers recently warned that laboratory testing suggests their therapies will be much less potent against omicron.

A third antibody from British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline appears to be the best positioned to fight omicron. But Glaxo’s drug is not widely available in the U.S.,

Glaxo’s drug, was specifically formulated to bind to a part of the virus that is less likely to mutate, according to the companies. Early studies of laboratory-simulated omicron by the drugmakers and outside researchers show promising results.

After pausing distribution last month to conserve supply, HHS is now shipping 55,000 doses of the drug, called sotrovimab, to state health departments, with the doses arriving as early as Tuesday. An additional 300,000 are expected in January.

HHS recommends states conserve the drug for the highest risk patients which include seniors and those with serious health problems, such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes and immune-system disorders.

We all need less fear, and more optimism at this time. Many things have changed since last year.  Just an Optimist" thought.
