Degeneration...

Researchers announced earlier this month that they had found a link between a Western diet and cognitive decline.

Published in the Cell Press journal iScience, the Marshall University authors said.
The mice eating the western diet increased their body weight and showed insulin resistance, lowered oxygen levels and low energy.
Additionally, it showed signs of behavioral changes in line with those typical of humans with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
"In this study, we found that a western diet produced systemic oxidant stress along with evidence of activation of Na,K-ATPase signaling within both murine brain and peripheral tissues," the authors wrote
"We also noted this diet caused increases in circulating inflammatory cytokines as well as behavioral, and brain biochemical changes consistent with neurodegeneration.

Connected...

Uncertain...

Kyrsten Sinema struck an agreement on prescription drug pricing with President Joe Biden as part of Democrats' social spending talks, though it’s at risk of ultimately being excluded as the party tries to reach a deal that can pass.

The Arizona Democrat was somewhat reluctant to strike a deal on prescription drug price negotiation, a key campaign plank for many Democrats. But a source familiar said the president and Sinema were able to see eye to eye in the end.

That deal may not cost any one one more penny.

House Democrats fired back on Thursday. A Democratic aide said they were never party to the Sinema-White House agreement and saw it as a “Trojan horse devised by Big Pharma.”

The prescription drug pricing language was ultimately left out of the framework the White House released publicly, leaving its fate uncertain.

Promise...

In the meantime, the White House is seeking the cooperation of OPEC, meaning, Saudi Arabia’s de facto leader, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who it otherwise is trying to hold at arm’s length.

It also means seeking cooperation from OPEC+  essentially, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who no doubt will relish “the ask” being requested of him.

The prices of oil skyrocketed as the Democratic ideology failed.

Just a thought.

Raise...

Prices...

The White House is worried about “the need for reliable and stable global energy markets,”  What the Biden administration actually is concerned about are gasoline prices, and so it is calling on  OPEC, Russia and other oil exporters, collectively known as OPEC+, to increase production.

The Biden's promise of not taxing the poor and the middle class just went out of the door the minute he cancelled the oil search /production and contracts for federal lands. Every Car owner, house owner, renter, truckers, busses, and prices of goods are shifted to the consumers including the very poor. Promises promises.   Just a thought.

Tyrant...

De Blasio has been among Cuomo's biggest public detractors for years and was in the first wave of fellow Democrats to demand the governor leave office when the allegations first surfaced earlier this year.

In a pair of appearances, he said Cuomo was a "tyrant" of "Shakespearean" proportions who should face criminal charges for groping an aide, after the AG's investigation found the governor sexually harassed 11 women in violation of federal and state law.

Mayor Bill de Blasio hailed the downfall of his longtime rival Gov. Andrew Cuomo  but warned that New Yorkers should keep a close eye on the departing governor for further misdeeds until he’s actually out the door.

New Yorkers should also keep an open eyes on the Mayor himself as he discriminate against unvaccinated people and cause the loss of jobs to thousands of employee. Just compare this to any Republican Mayor in various States. Just a thought.

Fourth ..

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in updated COVID-19 guidelines this week that some immunocompromised people may need a fourth dose of the vaccine
The agency wrote that people who are over 18 years old who already received an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine primary series and received an additional mRNA vaccine dose may receive a single COVID-19 booster dose at least six months following their third mRNA vaccine dose.
Those who have received two doses of an mRNA vaccine and are moderately or severely immunocompromised, with more than 28 days having passed since the second dose, should receive an additional mRNA dose immediately followed around six months later by a single COVID-19 vaccine booster dose.
I think we need to follow the experience of some States, like Florida, that managed to overcome Covid-19 with just improving people quality of life rather than condense people in small spaces, like New York, and rely on continue vaccination.
Just a thought.

Protein...

To reduce visceral fat, add a protein supplement to your healthy, balanced diet. Several studies have associated protein consumption with the loss of visceral fat
Researchers found that a test group that took a protein supplement along with a mildly calorie-restricted diet lost more visceral fat than a group that took a placebo.
In addition, the test group's gut microbiota was activated by the protein supplement. Some studies have connected healthy gut microbiota to the loss of visceral fat—regardless of diet.
Feel fuller sooner, it might help you reduce the number of calories you consume, particularly from processed foods and snacks that are associated with higher levels of visceral fat.
Consuming protein also seems to reduce levels of ghrelin, the hormone that increases appetite.
It's also believed that protein boosts your metabolism, enabling you to burn more calories 24 hours a day. What's more, protein can help you build lean muscle, giving your metabolism an additional boost as you burn more calories at rest.

Sinema...

Kyrsten Lea Sinema  is an American politician, former social worker, and lawyer serving as the senior United States Senator from Arizona. A Democrat from Arizona, she served three terms as a state representative for the 15th legislative district from 2005 to 2011, one term as the state senator for the 15th legislative district from 2011 to 2012, and three terms as the United States Representative for the 9th district from 2013 to 2019.
