Worth...

President Biden has reacted to America's snowballing humiliation in the graveyard of empires by once again dispatching U.S. envoy Zalmay Khalilzad to Doha, Qatar, to urge the government and the Taliban to seek a political solution, while at the same time dispatching B-52 bombers to attack at least two provincial capitals.

In Lashkargah, the capital of Helmand province, the US. bombing has already reportedly destroyed a high school and a health clinic.

Another B-52 bombed Sheberghan, the capital of Jowzjan province and the home of the infamous warlord and accused war criminal Abdul Rashid Dostum, who is now the military commander of the U.S.-backed government's armed forces.

Many are thinking the Afghanistan war passed it's first year was not worth the cost.

Crowded...

A Florida appeals court ruled in favor of Governor Ron DeSantis, effectively reinstating his ban on mask mandates in the state's public schools.

The decision by the First District Court of Appeals reverses a previous ruling by a Florida district court judge.......

"No surprise here - the 1st DCA has restored the right of parents to make the best decisions for their children," DeSantis wrote on Twitter.

"I will continue to fight for parents’ rights."
Florida is one of several U.S. states where Republican governors have sought to prevent local governments and school districts from mandating masks, in what has become a highly politicized tussle over COVID-19 precautions.

The masks are forced on the parents/kids by the local school in order to pile up more students in such a small space.    Just a thought.

Gorilla...

A number of western lowland gorillas at Zoo Atlanta have tested positive for the coronavirus, the zoo announced on its website.

"Recently, Gorilla Care Team members observed coughing, nasal discharge, and minor changes in appetite in several members of the gorilla population," the zoo wrote Friday. "Upon the onset of these signs, the Animal Care and Veterinary Teams immediately pursued testing for SARS-CoV-2. Fecal samples and nasal and oral swab samples were sent to the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Georgia, where they tested presumptively positive. Zoo Atlanta is waiting to receive the results of the confirmatory tests on samples sent to the National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Ames, Iowa."

The zoo believes the gorillas were infected by an employee who was fully vaccinated and wearing Personal Protective Equipment while caring for the animals, but later tested positive for COVID-19

Gravity...

Gravity is a force which tries to pull two objects toward each other. Anything which has mass also has a gravitational pull. The more massive an object is, the stronger its gravitational pull is. Earth's gravity is what keeps you on the ground and what causes objects to fall.

The remnants of Hurricane Ida, dropped more than half a foot of water on the region and gave New York City more rainfall.

It’s the exact sort of weather event that climate change promises to make more frequent: increasingly intense bursts of water in increasingly brief periods of time. And it’s one that the city’s infrastructure was not made to handle.

The MTA pumps 14 million gallons of water from subway stations daily, so days with heavy rain pose challenges.

Of the MTA’s 665 miles of subway track, 418 are underground, which means they’re vulnerable to flooding.  When the drainage and sewer system are overwhelmed, it sends water flooding into the subway system.

Start...

Scientists generally regard the later part of the 19th century as the point at which human activity started influencing the climate. But the new study brings that date forward to the 1830s.

The study, published in the journal Nature, draws on a new record of tropical sea surface temperature dating back to 1500, captured in fossilised corals and tiny marine organisms.

The findings suggest the climate system responds to greenhouse gases quicker than thought with consequences for understanding future climate change.

When human society began to industrialise, we started to change the chemistry of the atmosphere by adding CO2 to the air.

But knowing how much warming we’ve seen means comparing temperatures now to a time before the world started to feel the effects of industrialising. Scientists refer to that baseline period as “pre-industrial” and the period since then as the “industrial era”.   Just a thought.

Packed...

President Joe Biden’s latest vaccination push is the most aggressive effort yet by his administration to get the raging coronavirus pandemic under control.

Critics see the move by the president as a reversal of his previous promise to avoid vaccine mandates.

The Pfizer Covid Vaccine was approved less than a month ago. The experience with this vaccines is less than a year.

The long term impact on humans is unknown. Accordingly, those who are impacted primarily by the Virous, which are the elderly, are the one who should get the vaccine.

The Quality of life in big cities' offices, schools, buses, and subway trains ought to be adjusted to reduce the way people are packed inside for hours.

Just a thought.

Entitled...

The female passive parasite may give the appearance of being depressed. Her face looks wan, with a colorless complexion, and her limp arms hang from sagging shoulders.

Her heavy eyelids frame an expressionless gaze—a face that is neither happy nor sad. Her appearance may be disheveled, with frayed clothing, a tousled hairdo and even old, worn-out shoes. These are but a few clues.
In conversation, she might mention how she was wronged and how she comes from the school of hard knocks. Her self-deprecating remarks may seem humorous. Her helpless bearing gives a look of “poor me.”
She looks harmless as her mind stirs relentlessly to see what she can get out of you and how you will serve her needs. When she is ready, she will slowly begin to bleed you. Only she knows her plan and how she will execute it.

The female aggressive predator already knows what she is looking for when she sets her sights on you. She has undeniable charm and may take you off guard as she strikes with vigor–she comes on strong. Her words can be soothing, soft, and convincing. Her sensuous eyes may seduce you at first glance. Her glib tongue will inundate you with her ideas and her accomplishments–she sounds invincible.

She will stop at nothing and will pursue you at every end until she gets what she wants. You are her target, but you do not know it.

She is the actress putting on a show and will do whatever is most expedient to bring her the fastest results–that is, to get what she wants out of you. She may come meticulously dressed to the corporate gala and grandstand before the big shots–looking for the undeserved promotion. Or she may casually drop in to see you, wearing attention-getting clothes, like a blouse with a plunging neckline that invites you closer. She is lighthearted and ready to play. You are falling–you belong to her.

Whether passive parasite or aggressive predator, she believes she is entitled to take whatever she wants from you. After she wins, you may spot a tell-tale smirk on her face, a sign of her contemptuous delight that provides fleeting satisfaction. She knows she has used you–but she will never admit it. What has happened is you have been manipulated and exploited by a female psychopath.

Prices...

The Biden administration plans to take a tougher stance toward meat packing companies it says are causing sticker shock at grocery stores.

Four companies control much of the U.S. meat processing market, and top aides to President Joe Biden blamed those companies for rising food prices. What a great idea.

But can the Biden administration or whoever is running the Country at this time, change Biden's executive decisions done hastily the first day          Pres. Biden came to office. This decision led to doubling of the gas prices.

His decision enriched back the countries that supported terrorism all through history and caused so many wars in the Middle East. Hope someone does.  Just a thought.

Drug ...

Jermaine Dixon, 46, was entering his car on South Conduit Avenue near 132nd Street in South Ozone Park at about 8 a.m. Monday when the suspect, dressed in the apparent religious garb, ran up to him and fatally shot him at point-blank range, according to video, police and sources.
Dixon had the wad of cash ( $10,000 ) in his pocket and the suspect tried to take it but ran off before he could, law enforcement sources.
A second person had also been keeping watch and the pair waited several hours for Dixon to walk up to his car, the sources added.
Cops were investigating whether the suspect was impersonating an Hasidic man.

Rain...

Just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, a storm barreled through New York City, dumping up to 4 inches of rain within two hours amid tornado-force winds. It completely crippled the subways in a way unfamiliar to riders at the time.
It was the third storm that year to set off flooding across the subway system — including an April 15 event that dumped the most rain across the city since 1882, according to an MTA storm report.
But the August 8 weather system was the most severe because the fast and furious rainfall knocked out every line at the height of the morning rush, leaving the city’s subway system crippled for up to eight hours.
It forced the MTA to re-evaluate how it handles emergencies, particularly with the threat of climate change potentially bringing more severe weather to the city. And without the changes made after August 8, 2007, Hurricane Sandy's damage in 2012 could have been even worse.
Last week we had plain rain 8 inches from Ida, that crippled the transportation system in NYC completely. 14 years after Sandy... same results.
We are expanding the subway system for a reason.!!!!!! Just a thought.
