Gaslighting...

The term “gaslighting” has become a more entrenched cultural aspect of the American lexicon since 2016. Today, most people tend to use it in terms of politics. But gaslighting is applicable to and can be found in a wide array of cultural and social aspects.

Sexual gaslighting, for instance, is readily evident in many abusive relationships and toxic sexual encounters. Recognizing sexual gaslighting is vital for psychological and sexual well-being.

Essentially, gaslighting involves the psychological manipulation of another into questioning their sense of reality, refers to it as  “mind-manipulating strategies of abusive people”  particularly effective when “rooted in social inequalities, especially gender and sexuality, and executed in power-laden intimate relationships.”

Sexual gaslighting, therefore, is the psychological and abusive manipulation of another person for the purpose of getting them to question their reality around a sexual situation

Someday...

Top to bottom...

The top administrator of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops resigned after cellphone data revealed that he was a frequent user of Grindr, the queer dating app, and regularly visited gay bars.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the organization announced that Monsignor Jeffrey Burill had resigned as its general secretary after the group learned of “impending media reports alleging possible improper behavior”.

Since last November, Burill has been the organization’s top administrator. As general secretary, he was in charge of coordinating all administrative work and planning for the conference, which is the country’s network for Catholic bishops.

As a priest, Burill is required to take a vow of celibacy.  Catholic teachings consider sexual activity outside of heterosexual marriage sinful.

Contrived...

CNN’s heavily promoted town hall event with President Biden lit up social media for all the wrong reasons as everything from crowd size to moderator Don Lemon’s performance was roasted.

Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Epstein kicked things off by pointing out the tiny crowd. "CNN was very careful to not show that no one showed up for the Biden Town Hall and that most of the room was empty," radio host Mark Simone noted

The Bongino Report declared the event was a "train wreck," while Media Research Center president Brent Bozell called it "garbage."

National Review editor Jack Butler slammed the "contrived" CNN event that he feels is a far cry from the successful town hall events of the past. Saying the format should be abolished, he called it a "hideous spectacle unbecoming of a self-governing republic" that continues to get worse.

Predatory...

Pharma giant Pfizer

has begun pitching for a booster shot of the coronavirus vaccine saying the efficacy of its two-shot regimen declines after six months.

But in an implicit rebuke of the pushiness with which a third dose is being proposed, US agencies are saying a determination on this is yet to be made, science will dictate the process, and for now, a booster shot is not called for.

Pharma giants evoke deep suspicion among skeptics who feel they are predatory and opportunistic, and will use the pandemic to boost their profits. The coronavirus vaccine is expected to net Pfizer $ 26 billion in 2021 even at its current pricing of $ 19.50 a shot, and company executives have suggested the price ought to be much higher.

Some experts are arguing that two doses do the job quite effectively and a third dose may never be needed.

Do the children needs a vaccine or that is part of the predatory and opportunistic practice of Pfizer?  Just a thought.
