Attempts to understand the nature of illicit drug abuse and addiction can be traced back for centuries, however, the search has always been limited by the scientific theories and social attitudes available or dominant at any one time.

Illicit drug use has been documented across the world however the quality of estimated prevalence of use is best in the developed countries of Europe, North America, and Australasia.

We now can collect.  Just a thought.

Real journalism is different from the gossip, punditry, and clickbait that dominates today’s news. Real journalism, in the words of Joseph Pulitzer, is the painstaking reporting that will “fight for progress and reform, never tolerate injustice or corruption, [and] always fight demagogues.

Real journalism requires significant resources. One reason we do not have enough real journalism in America right now is because many outlets are being gutted by the same forces of greed that are pillaging our economy.
For example, Facebook and Google—control 60 percent of the entire digital advertising market. They have used monopolistic control to siphon off advertising revenues from news organizations.
Corporate conglomerates and hedge fund vultures have bought and consolidated beleaguered local newspapers and slashed their newsrooms. Just a thought.

My visit to Syria has made it abundantly clear: Our counterproductive regime change war does not serve America’s interest, and it certainly isn’t in the interest of the Syrian people.

“As I visited with people from across the country, and heard heartbreaking stories of how this war has devastated their lives, I was asked, ‘Why is the United States and its allies helping al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups try to take over Syria? Syria did not attack the United States. Al-Qaeda did.’ I had no answer.

“I return to Washington, DC with even greater resolve to end our illegal war to overthrow the Syrian government. I call upon Congress and the new Administration to answer the pleas of the Syrian people immediately and support the Stop Arming Terrorists Act.

“From Iraq to Libya and now in Syria, the U.S. has waged wars of regime change, each resulting in unimaginable suffering, devastating loss of life, and the strengthening of groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS.  Just a Free Speech thought.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy who reported being shot by a sniper, launching a manhunt for the shooter, “completely fabricated” the story, the sheriff’s department announced at a news conference Saturday night.
Sheriff's Deputy Angel Reinosa, a 21-year-old rookie with the department, had cut holes in his shirt to make it look like he had been shot and was treated for a “bruise” on his shoulder at a hospital following the allegedly made-up incident, Homicide Bureau Capt. Kent Wegener said.
Assistant Sheriff Robin Limon told reporters the department was “incredibly disappointed" by the case and that Reinosa had been relieved of his duties. The department is launching a criminal investigation into Reinosa's false report, Limon added.

Heavily armed deputies wearing tactical gear set up a perimeter and launched a massive search for a suspect in triple-digit temperatures but weren't able to find a suspect.

President Trump said he wasn’t seeking regime change in Iran, and is open to negotiating with the president of the Middle Eastern country that he’s sanctioned and denounced for supporting terrorism around the region.
“Iran is a country of tremendous potential. We’re not looking for leadership change,” Trump said during a news conference with French President Emmanuel Macron on the final day of the G-7 summit here.
“I really believe Iran could be a great nation, but they can’t have nuclear weapons,” Trump said. The U.S. goals were for Iran to have “no nuclear weapons, no ballistic missiles” and “a longer period of time” than the 2015 nuclear agreement reached by former President Obama, which was a 10-year agreement.
Comment:
This is  a president who is searching for peace,  not to kill and destroy poor people's lives under fake reasons.  He is   the anti Obama/ Hillary regime change that killed hundred of thousands  Syrians and created 10 million refugees suffering on a daily basis.

Federal prosecutors in Washington appear to be in the final stages of deciding whether to seek an indictment of Andrew G. McCabe, the former deputy F.B.I. director, on charges of lying to federal agents, according to interviews with people familiar with recent developments in the investigation.
In two meetings last week, Mr. McCabe’s lawyers met with the deputy attorney general, Jeffrey A. Rosen, who is expected to be involved in the decision about whether to prosecute, and for more than an hour with the United States attorney for the District of Columbia, Jessie K. Liu.
An indictment of a former top F.B.I. official is extremely rare and would be the latest chapter in the saga of Mr. McCabe, who was fired last year over the issue now under criminal investigation  whether he failed to be forthcoming with internal investigators examining the F.B.I.’s dealings with the news media.

A Florida jury deliberated for just six hours before finding a man guilty of manslaughter in the 2018 killing of an unarmed father he shot in front of his family in a dispute over a handicap parking space.

Michael Drejka had argued he acted in self-defense, and initially invoked the  "stand your ground" law.
Just hours after gunning down Markeis McGlockton, Drejka told detectives he opened fire on July 19, 2018, when the man shoved him to the ground outside a Circle A store in Clearwater and took one step toward him, a scenario the jury apparently rejected after viewing security video multiple times that showed the victim step back when he saw Drejka pull a firearm.

This was aggression to begin with that open the door of trouble.

"This isn't a matter of giving weapons to people, but they end up falling into the wrong hands. We are directly arming militants who are working under the command of al-Qaeda, all in this effort to overthrow the Syrian government," Gabbard explained.

"We have been providing direct and indirect support to al-Qaeda, the very group which attacked us on 9/11, that we are supposedly continuing to fight against and trying to defeat."

*The devastation of Syria will be Obama’s legacy

Pelosi told House Democrats on a conference call Friday, "The public isn't there on impeachment."
She told them the case needs to be "as strong" as possible.
"If and when we act, people will know he gave us no choice," Pelosi said, according to an aide granted anonymity to discuss the private call.
More than half the House Democrats support opening an impeachment inquiry. But Pelosi said the House must weigh its "responsibility to protect and defend the Constitution" with the need to be "unifying and not dividing."
