Conciliatory...
After a weekend filled with a series of conciliatory statements from China, some of them downright surprising, the situation with North Korea seems to be less tense right now, which could be construed as a major win for the Trump team.
The big move came as China agreed to ban imports of North Korean iron, lead, and coal as part of new U.N. sanctions on Pyongyang. That's hitting Kim Jon Un's regime where it hurts.
But there was also the statement in the Chinese-run state newspaper that said if North Korea attacks the U.S., China should remain neutral. In other words, they'd be on their own.
And there was even calming talk from this side of the Pacific. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis both insisted the Trump administration is not seeking regime change in North Korea and wants a diplomatic resolution to this dispute.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in said that any military action against Kim Jong Un’s regime requires his nation’s approval, and vowed to prevent war at all costs.
Few calm words, and the status changed completely. Enough with the threats to other countries. Peace is worth living not war.

Huang Guangyu was born in poverty. He started out as a teenage clothing trader and his success story seemed emblematic of China's three-decade-old economic boom.
An appliance retailer who was once China's richest businessman convicted for insider trading and other crimes, the latest in a series of Chinese tycoons jailed for financial offenses.
A Beijing court also convicted Huang of bribing officials and unspecified "illegal operations," said a statement by prosecutors. Reported by state television on its national midday news, possibly as a warning to other businesspeople.
He was detained in November 2008 and resigned as Gome's chairman the following year. He was sentenced to 14 years in jail for insider trading.....
Huang built Gome Electronics into China's biggest appliance retailer and was estimated in 2008 to be worth $6.3 billion. His abrupt fall reflected the uncertain status of entrepreneurs in China, where an economic boom has created dozens of billionaires but complaints of misconduct are widespread.

Tirade...
On Monday morning, President Trump went on a tirade on against Kenneth C. Frazier, chief executive of Merck, the pharmaceuticals giant.
Mr. Frazier, one of the nation's most prominent African-American chief executives, had announced through his company's Twitter account that he was resigning from the president's American Manufacturing Council in response to Mr. Trump's refusal over the weekend to immediately and directly condemn the white supremacists and neo-Nazis carrying swastika flags in Charlottesville, Va.
Mr. Trump had blamed the bigotry and violence which left one anti-bigotry protester dead "on all sides."
Was he planning to quit the council regardless?
Trump Tweeted :Now that Ken Frazier of Merck Pharma has resigned from President's Manufacturing Council,he will have more time to LOWER RIPOFF DRUG PRICES!
Looking forward to prices' reduction on medications by any means. Now he will have the time to do so. Just a thought.
