Antibiotic...*

Research released by the British Medical Journal implicated trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole as a cause for increased risk of sudden death in older populations.

Data gathered for more than 17 years and included patients aged 66 years or older who were on an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor or angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and then suddenly died within 7 or 14 days of starting treatment as an outpatient with an oral antibiotic.

Of the more than 1.5 million patients included in the study, nearly 40,000 died suddenly after beginning oral antibiotic.

Previous research theorized the quick and clinically significant rise in potassium, which then caused an unrecognized arrhythmic death.  The authors also implied that sudden death is attributed to underlying cardiovascular disease. [or both together]

With more than 250 million prescriptions for ACE inhibitors and ARBs annually, and more than 20 million prescriptions for trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole dispensed each year in the United States, chances are that the 2 will be prescribed together. When appropriate, it is prudent for clinicians to evaluate. The duration and impact of antibiotics are scary.    Just a thought.

An illustration posted by artist La Sauvage Jaune (@LaSauvageJaune) commenting on the controversial burkini ban is going viral because of its loaded message on women's fashion.
"The Lottery of Indecency" shows the figure of a woman, half mostly covered and the other half mostly bare. Comments surrounding the woman pick apart what is perceived as wrong with each look.
Comments like "undress yourself" pointed at a burkini next to a topless figure and "cover that up" show how cultures around the world differ on the meaning of modesty.
The illustration points out other conflicting messages women often hear, such as "you look like a whore with makeup" but "you’re neglecting yourself" if you don’t wear makeup.

So the key here is the occasion, where and when.    On the beach with bikini and in the worship place with a burka.     Just a thought.

French police conduct a control at the French-German border in Strasbourg, France, to check vehicles and verify the identity of travellers November 20, 2015
French police check documents at the French-German border in Strasbourg.
A teenager, who the police said in a statement was a Norwegian national of Somali origin, stabbed the woman to death and injured five other people near the British Museum. Mental health may have been a factor in the attack, police said, but "terrorism remains one line of inquiry."

Police confirmed to CBS News that the woman killed in Wednesday's knife attack in central London was an American citizen.

Madrid wants to see changes made to the treaty governing the visa-free Schengen area, which would allow Spain to introduce border controls to stem the tide of militants returning from the Middle East, the country’s interior minister has said. Many other European Countries want the same.

Would European Countries start  building walls on the border?   Just a thought.

"Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He's playing the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat."  Mitt Romney.

“It’s like being shot or poisoned,” Graham told reporters in response to voting for Trump or Cruz.

Marco Rubio unleashed an array of sharp attacks on Republican frontrunner Trump, jabbing at his "small hands" and "spray tan."

Ted Cruz and John Kasich are joining forces in a last-ditch effort to deny Donald Trump the Republican presidential nomination
Stop Trump is the concerted effort of some Republicans and other prominent conservatives to prevent Donald Trump from obtaining the Party nomination for the presidential election 2016.
The movement gained momentum following Trump's victory over U.S. Senator Marco Rubio in FloridaNow the Bushy Brothers are back.
Trump became the presumptive nominee, while internal opposition to Trump remained as the process pivoted towards a general election.

He is taking "it" away from "us", the rightful owners of the Country. With Trump we get a lousy Hat.... Not Millions of Dollars...  Can you see it?   Just a thought.      Posted 5/7/2016.

Whatever the result of France's presidential election, the choice will resonate far beyond France's borders. It could be bigger than Brexit- the future of Europe is at stake as disenchanted French voters choose between untested centrist  and far-right nationalist Sunday's presidential runoff.

Financial markets have watched this election with exceptional attention, jittery over Le Pen's dreams of pulling France out of the European Union.
France is a founding member of the EU, and its main driver along with former rival Germany.

Le Pen has tapped into a widespread misunderstanding of the bloc, blaming it for myriad economic and security woes. She also blames free trade pacts for killing French jobs and wants to renegotiate them, which would cause a financial tangle for the rest of the EU and France's trade partners.

It comes back to Economics, National Security, and Globalization's benefits or the regular guy's life.  Just a thought.

Marine Le Pen of France. Can she do it? Can she capture the French people's desire?
