Mirrors...*
NY police commissioner Ray Kelly declared that striking down the city's "stop and frisk" policy would cost lives. It appears to have been an effective city-wide strategy against murder resulting in a drop of statistics.
In a decision filed in federal court in Newark, U.S. District Judge William Martini dismissed a lawsuit brought in 2012 by eight Muslims who alleged that the NYPD's surveillance programs were unconstitutional because they focused on religion, national origin and race.
The judge was not convinced that the plaintiffs were targeted solely because of their religion.
Bratton adopted a “zero tolerance” policy for petty crimes, and a renewed focus on “quality of life” issues. The theory maintains and monitors urban environments which may stop further vandalism and escalation into more serious crime. He established the controversial CompStat system.
Seems like Kelly and Bratton are similar in so many plicies.
Today I see more cops in the street. Hope the elderly are safer today better than yesterday.
Just a thought.

Remember...*
Around the corner I have a friend,
in this great city that has no end.
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
and before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friend's face,
for life is swift and a terrible race.
He knows I like him just as well,
as in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine, if we were younger then,
and now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
"Tomorrow" I say," I will call on Jim"... "
Just to show that I'm thinking of him".
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
and distance between us grows.
Around the corner!- yet miles away,
"here's a telegram sir" "Jim died today".
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Namenda...*
Alzheimer's medication Namenda is due to go generic next year. Forest Laboratories plans to stop the sale of the current version at least six months before a less expensive, generic product could become available.
The company is telling doctors to transition patients to a Newer Form, not a New Drug, one that has additional patent protection and is unlikely to go generic for years.
The purpose is "to get patients over to this new product as fast as possible," said David Maris, a stock analyst with BMO Capital Markets who covers pharmaceuticals. Thus, when the patent ends on the old product, "patients are already on the new product and there's no existing product left."
The retail price of Namenda is more than $300 a month. When generic companies compete, the price of a drug usually drops to $30.
"The reason drug companies do these forced switches is that the switches are sticky.
This is denying the patient the medication, reasonable price, after the patent of 20 years expired.
First: Since the company can't, or wouldn't produce the Namenda, the generic company should be allowed to start marketing the generic 9 month earlier.
Second: The regular Namenda should be placed over the counter by the approval of the pharmacist. If the patient has been on it, no prescriptions is necessary for 9 months.
Third: Allow free importation of this medication from other countries by Walmart, CVS and the like for 9 months. Just a thought.

Clean...?
Syria was in the crosshairs of the empire long before 2005. In a 2007 speech, General Wesley Clark recounts a conversation he had with then Undersecretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz in 1991 regarding Operation Desert Storm. “one thing we learned is that we can use our military in the Middle East and the Soviets won’t stop us.......”
Further adding to this evidence is the testimony of former French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas, who stated on television that, roughly 2 years before hostilities began in Syria, British officials admitted to him that they were ‘preparing something’ in the country.
“England was preparing the invasion of the rebels in Syria,” he said
Israeli National News reported March 21st that “Seven police and at least four demonstrators in Syria have been killed in continuing violent clashes that erupted in the southern town of Daraa last Thursday.” [Emphasis mine] the opposition was not peaceful, but instead were armed and firing at police. There were more police killed than protesters in this incident.
Who got "Clean Hands"..?
I See...
The truth is stranger than fiction.
While we don't know the truth about Syria's issue, one day we will.
- The war in Syria is raging for five years. Money is coming from everywhere to promote instability of a country and destroy hope of its people. Weapons are provided freely by those who can manufacture it and someone is paying for it. These fighters are well paid in a place where business died and the only flourishing aspect is carrying arms and killing someone. Where are world powers? And why Syria is the place? Just a thought.
