Mark Hacking, 28, was outgoing and romantic, while Lori, 27, was private and practical.
He adored her and she adored him," recalls Lori's mother. "I couldn't have asked for a better son-in-law.
Hacking reported his wife missing, "she never came home after going for an early jog in nearby woods".
Police learned that he'd been shopping for a new mattress before he called 911. He was convicted of killing Lori.

Joey...
The man who didn't tell law enforcement that he knew about a massacre plot at a historically black South Carolina church before the crime was committed and lied to the FBI about it was sentenced to 27 months in prison Tuesday.
Joey Meek was a friend of Dylann Roof, the man convicted and sentenced to death for killing nine people at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston in June 2015.
U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel, who also presided over Roof's trial, said he wanted Meek to spend time in prison as a deterrent for anyone in the future who knows about something so serious and fails to report it.
Meek admitted that Roof had told him he'd been planning the attack for months, and intended to commit suicide after the killings were complete. Meek also said Roof had told him he had a gun fanny pack to carry extra ammunition.

Mudslide...*
At least 25 people are known to have died when a rain-soaked hillside collapsed without warning, unleashing a wall of mud that engulfed dozens of homes in a river valley near the rural town of Oso, Seattle. Many are still missing days after the mudslide.
Numerous reports dating back to the 1950s have warned that the hillside, that collapsed, is subject to failure. Indeed, the very same portion of hillside outside Oso, has slid into the Stillaguamish River numerous times since the 1950s.
Daniel Miller, a geomorphologist, has studied the area and reported to the US Army Corps of Engineers. He warned of “large catastrophic failure.”
The resident weren't aware of the danger they are living in of this particular location.
Many dangers are around us, known to some but the public is unaware of. Hope that the outcomes are not as grim as the mudslide. God Help us all.

Detested...
At the beginning of 2016, North Carolina called for drug tests for welfare recipients. The results revealed that of 89 people who were picked for the test, 21 tested hot with drugs in their system.
However, 70 other people were called in and did not show up for the drug test at all. These no-shows were also barred from receiving benefits.
Because of the large number of those who failed or did not show up, the state of North Carolina is requiring ALL those wishing to apply for the Work First program be tested for drugs. This requirement seems to be common sense and should be done in every state. Just a thought.

Hyatt Hotels will no longer offer on-demand pornographic movies in its rooms. Hyatt is just the latest hotel company to ban on-demand adult entertainment from its rooms.
Marriott hotels ended the practice of offering adult video on demand several years ago. The company's chairman, Bill Marriott, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, told The Associated Press in 2012 that not only was the church "very, very opposed to pornography," but that demand for the movies had "gone way down".
On the other hand, Playboy magazine is to stop publishing images of naked women as part of its redesign, it has emerged. The internet has made nudity outdated, and pornographic magazines are no longer so commercially viable. However, the magazine will still feature women in provocative poses though not fully nude.
What the world coming to. Just a thought.

Two Boston police officers are being praised for coming to the aid of veteran after a city bus driver sought help with a rider holding a hatchet to his neck and threatening to kill himself.
Capt. Haseeb Hosein was working a construction detail when the driver got his attention. Hosein called for back-up, boarded the bus and started talking to the troubled passenger.
Another officer, patrol officer David Godin, joined in the effort to talk the man out of killing himself, according to the station.
When he opened up and told them he was a veteran, Godin said: "Thank you for your service."
At those simple words, the man dropped the hatchet and eventually walked off the bus to a waiting ambulance.
"The goal on a call like this is for everyone to go home safe and, thankfully, today everybody did," police said in a statement. Just a thought.
Shelter...
It’s a common reaction.
“People are concerned about an institutional structure [Homeless shelter] coming into a residential neighborhood. They’re concerned about what the impact is going to be on the resources that may already be scarce.
Quality of life and real estate value are the two issues in mind.
Resolve this complexity and all would welcome a shelter.

A lawsuit filed relates to a New York-to-Las Vegas JetBlue flight on March 27, 2012, in which the pilot, Clayton Osbon, told his co-pilot that “we need to take a leap of faith” and that “we’re not going to Vegas,” among other bizarre actions, according to federal investigators.
The co-pilot locked Mr. Osbon out of the cockpit and diverted the flight to Texas, where federal authorities charged Mr. Osbon with interfering with the flight crew.
A federal judge in Texas found Mr. Osbon, 52 y.o., not guilty by reason of insanity.
The suit claims breach of contract and negligence by JetBlue for allowing him to fly on the day of the incident despite evidence that he was suffering from mental-health issues. He is seeking more than $14 million from JetBlue.
Mr. Osbon said in the filing that he suffered from a “complex partial brain seizure” and that his actions before the flight—including missing the preflight meeting and struggling to complete the preflight checklist—should have made clear he was mentally unfit to fly.
Good Luck with that.!!!!!! Just a thought.

Soul...
Who Won? that is the question the Media wants us to think about. But No one won here. Not the American People, the Republicans, the Democrats nor the President.
If Obama care premium is increasing dramatically, something has to be done. Obviously the Republicans rejected the president proposal. But the Democrats also rejected Bernie Sanders's proposal for importing medications which will decrease the cost and eliminate medication shortage dramatically.
So to the politicians, please have a soul. Just a thought.

A Florida retirement home employee has been accused of secretly filming residents having sex and sharing it with her online followers. Alexis Williams was an employee at Bristol Court Assisted Living Facility in St. Petersburg when she recorded an 81-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man making love last August, according to police.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announced that the then-20-year-old medical assistant had been charged with video voyeurism for the invasion of the pair’s intimate moment and charged with disseminating the video by posting it on Snapchat.
Someone who saw the Snapchat video ultimately brought it to the attention of police, who said that Williams confessed. She was fired from the assisted living center, the sheriff's office said.

Breana Talbott, 18, entered a Denison, Texas, church bloody and wearing only a shirt, bra and underwear. She was visibly cut and scratched.
Denison police had been frantically searching for the woman for roughly three hours.

Police believed the crime scene had been staged and a medical examination did not uncover any evidence of sexual assault. Talbott confessed the entire thing had been a hoax. Amateur....

The Coloradoan reports attorneys for the city of Fort Collins notified a federal appeals court of their intent to challenge a preliminary injunction blocking a section of the city's public nudity law.
In granting the injunction last month, the judge said he would likely find the city ordinance that makes it a crime for women but not men to show their nipples unconstitutional.
The Fort Collins City Council voted to keep the law in 2015, rejecting a growing movement to remove gender-specific indecency codes. Two women then sued to challenge the law.

Maine’s state fire marshal says a man burned down his parents’ house and killed three pets while trying to exterminate ants in his basement with matches.
Investigators say 21-year-old Doucette was trying to incinerate the ants with wooden matches when one of them ignited combustible materials. The fire quickly spread to the rest of the house.
He was treated for smoke inhalation and burns after he carried some burning items out of the house. They say the house is owned by his parents, who were not home at the time. Authorities say the fire killed two cats, one dog.

What is unfolding in Syria is an armed insurrection supported covertly by foreign powers including the US, Turkey and Israel. Armed insurgents belonging to Islamist organizations have crossed the border from Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. The US State Department has confirmed that it is supporting the insurgency.
The objective is to destabilize the Syrian State and implement “regime change” through the covert support of an armed insurgency, integrated by Islamist militia. The reports on civilian deaths are used to provide a pretext and a justification for humanitarian intervention under the principle “Responsiblity to Protect”.
More than 1 in 10 Syrians have been wounded or killed since the beginning of the war in 2011, according to a new report that finds a staggering 470,000 deaths have been caused by the conflict, either directly or indirectly. 10 millions displaced.
Hundreds of thousands of people, particularly male breadwinners, have [been] killed, injured, arrested, and kidnapped, enormously endangering their lives and the living conditions of their families. And a country is morally and economically destroyed.

In the most clearly detailed example, a group of hunters turned on their GPS devices moments after leaving a parking area at around 6 a.m. When scientists analyzed their movements later and contrasted them with those of a nearby grizzly, it became clear the bear was tailing them.
The bruin stayed downwind of the hunters, at one point coming within 100 yards of them as they moved around a lake. At around noon, the bear bedded down for a nap, but easily picked up the hunters’ trail again when it awoke, according to the report.

Subway and the CBC are continuing their game of chicken, and neither side looks to be swerving. The latest in the fast-food drama: The restaurant chain says it will file a lawsuit against the broadcaster for a story that claims Subway's chicken isn't 100% chicken, but halfway made out of soy, the Toronto Star reports.
The CBC hasn't backed down from its accusation after it says it had DNA analysis completed on Subway's meat, even though Subway said it conducted its own tests and found soy to make up less than 1% of its chicken samples.
Calling the CBC's report "defamatory" and "absolutely false," the complaint will seek $210 million in damages."
Subway has since requested a retraction and apology, and it even took out a full-page ad in the Globe and Mail that read: "Saying our chicken is only 50% chicken is 100% wrong."
The chicken is not chicken, the foot long is not a foot long. I can't believe it.

Police have arrested four people suspected of planning an “imminent” terror attack in central Paris, according to French media reports. Two of the suspects were French brothers of Tunisian origin.
The arrests took place this morning in the 18th arrondissement the location of an attack on a police station in early January, and the 93rd – the department of Saint-Denis, where a long siege ended in the death of the Paris attacks “mastermind” last year.
The French capital remains on high alert after jihadists massacred 130 people in November 2015, in a number of suicide bombings and mass shooting at cafes, restaurants and the Bataclan concert hall near Place de la République.
A house search was conducted in Forest, in Belgium," Three of six police officers were shot at as they tried to enter the apartment, and were slightly injured.
An officer neutralized one of the suspects who was about to shoot. His
body was later found inside the apartment next to a Kalashnikov rifle,

The Genie...
Prime Minister Mark Rutte and lawmaker Geert Wilders cast Wednesday's Dutch parliamentary elections as a litmus test for populism in Europe, ahead of crucial votes in France and Germany.
Coming after last's year British vote to leave the European Union and the election of U.S. President Donald Trump two stunning successes for populists.
"This is a chance for a big democracy like the Netherlands to make a point to stop this toppling over of the domino stones. Rutte said after his vote.
Wilders insisted that whatever the result of Wednesday's election, the kind of populist politics he and others in Europe represent will be here to stay. "The genie will not go back into the bottle. People feel misrepresented," he said, predicting this would show in elections later this year in France and Germany too.
Wilders' one-page election manifesto includes pledges to close borders to immigrants, safety and security of the citizens, as well as taking the Netherlands out of the European Union.

The state of Nevada is the only jurisdiction in the United States where prostitution is permitted. Strictly regulated brothels operate legally in isolated rural areas, away from the majority of Nevada's population
License fees for brothels range from an annual $100,000 in Storey County to an annual $200,000 in Lander County. Licensed prostitutes must be at least 21 years old, except in Storey County and Lyon County (where the minimum age is 18).
Nevada law requires that registered brothel prostitutes be tested weekly for gonorrhea and Chlamydia trachomatis, and monthly for HIV and syphilis;[23] furthermore, condoms are mandatory for all oral sex and sexual intercourse. Brothel owners may be held liable if customers become infected with HIV after a prostitute has tested positive for the virus.[24] Women work a legally mandated minimum of nine days for each work period.[25]
Despite there being a legal option, the vast majority of prostitution in Nevada takes place illegally in Reno and Las Vegas. About 66 times more money is spent by customers on illegal prostitution in Nevada than in the regulated brothels. Coming soon right after Marijuana.
Bungalow...
You don't need to be flush to be happy. Author Dina Gachman knows that from personal experience. She has faced student loans, made ends meet on unpaid internships, and, along the way, figured out how to live the dream on a dime.
"It's not about feeling mopey because you can't afford a private jet with solid gold fuselage," her book "Brokenomics."
"We'd all love free-flowing Dom Pérignon … but it's not about that. It's about surviving and thriving, no matter what your situation may be."
There are definitely perks when it comes to renting, and if you're in a funk about your 300 square-foot living quarters, it's time to stop pining for a Spanish colonial mansion and start loving your little casita,".
One of Gachman's favorite psychological tricks is to think of her tiny, oven-less apartment as a "beach bungalow." "If you live near the mountains, call it your 'cabin,'" . "If you're in the plains, call it your 'homestead.'
And remember, "you don't have to pay property taxes, deal with maintenance issues, or stress about whether the value of your house is rising or sinking … someday, when you're writing a check for your property taxes, you might just think back on your thimble-sized cabin/homestead and miss the good old days."

Valeant Pharmaceuticals (VRX) continues to be pushed down. If you thought it couldn't get any worse, it just did.
The stock fell by nearly 10% below $11. Since August 1st, 2015 shares of VRX are down nearly 95%, from around $260 per share.
Unfortunately, one lives by leverage and dies by leverage. In this case, VRX is drowning in leverage. VRX's most famous shareholder just told the world there are better places to put your money.
Valeant grew quickly with a series of mergers and acquisitions and for a short period of time in 2015 was the most valuable company in Canada. Valeant was described as a platform company that grows by systematically acquiring other companies.
In 2015–2016 the company was involved in a controversy drug price hikes and the use of a specialty pharmacy for the distribution of its specialty drugs, dancing around US Laws.
What about other specialty pharmacies... Gimmicks? Just a thought.

After months of relative price stability the floodgates of selling opened wide. Crude oil production in the United States rebounding to nearly 9.1 million barrels per day.
The Saudi oil minister explicitly said that the accord adherents would not abide "free-riders," referenced the shale producers.
In response, Saudi Arabia announced that it would, once again, supply full contract volumes of crude oil to its Asian customers, and it has aggressively discounted its pricing.
With U.S. refiners undergoing seasonal maintenance right now, U.S. oil inventory levels will only grow further, until the units return to service, in the coming weeks.

An Indian bride has walked out of her wedding ceremony after her groom-to-be failed to solve a simple math problem. The bride tested the groom on his math skills and when he got the sum wrong, she walked out. The question she asked: How much is 15 plus six. His reply: 17.
The groom's family tried persuading the bride to return, but she refused. She said the groom had misled them about his education. Local police mediated between the families and both sides returned all the gifts that had been exchanged before the wedding.

New York Sen. Chuck Schumer said he was “caught off guard” after Bharara, known for crusading against public corruption, was forced out of office. “I was extremely surprised and disappointed,” Schumer said.
“The president’s decision to change his mind and fire Preet says far more about the president than it does about Preet,” Schumer said. Schumer would not speculate on why Bharara, who previously served as Schumer’s general counsel, was fired.
“He did an amazing job in so many different areas,” Schumer said. “He will be sorely missed.”
As was the case in prior transitions, many of the United States Attorneys nominated by the previous administration already have left the Department of Justice.
So what was the issue here? Caught off Guard?
