Mo Money...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi shot down a claim by Gov. Cuomo that a $50 billion federal aid package for the state was insufficient.

“We sadly observe over 1.5 million coronavirus cases, nearly 45,000 deaths, and hundreds of thousands of job losses in New York,” Pelosi wrote in a letter to New York’s congressional Democrats. “Please know that your concerns are being addressed in ways that you have advanced.

The actual cash the Empire State was set to receive was already closer to $70 billion.

The Pelosi missive was the latest in a furious bit of letter writing between the state and the speaker. On Tuesday, NY House Dems sent Pelosi a letter asking for more cash. This followed an earlier note from Cuomo to the whole state delegation last week demanding at least $15 billion more in aid.

About 40 people gathered aboard a large party bus on Thursday night, celebrating a birthday as the bus roamed Brooklyn and made its way to Times Square. Some in the crowd shared pictures on social media, posing with firearms while inside.

For more than three hours, investigators surveilled the rolling party as it traveled from Brooklyn to Manhattan and then to the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn.

The police stopped the bus near Front and York Streets, recovering eight loaded handguns and arresting 14 people, including three juveniles, on weapons possession charges.

Officials are now investigating ties between some of the revelers arrested and Brooklyn’s Road to Riches gang, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation.

Bill Gates’ daughter told her social media followers that the first dose of the COVID-19 “did NOT implant my genius father into my brain.”

Jennifer Gates, 24, made the joke to dispel wild conspiracy theories that the billionaire Microsoft founder was somehow using the vaccine to get inside people’s minds and track their movements, according to a report.

Jennifer Gates is a second-year medical student at New York’s Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

“I am beyond privileged to receive my first dose of mRNA to teach my cells to mount a protective immune response to this virus. As a medical student and aspiring physician, I am grateful it will give me protection and safety for my future practice,” she told her more than 357,000 Instagram followers Friday.

The seven Republican senators who joined all 50 Democrats in voting to convict former President Donald Trump of inciting the Jan. 6 riot in the Capitol are now facing heat from conservatives in their home states.

Party leaders and local GOP officials, many seeking to curry favor with the broad swath of conservative voters still loyal to Trump, have condemned the 7 lawmakers for breaking ranks with the rest of the party.

The critiques illustrate the strong hold that Trump continues to have over Republicans nationally in spite of his refusal to concede defeat.

Polling conducted after the attack on Congress last month continues to show Trump holds a sky-high approval rating among Republicans, and that about half of the GOP is primarily loyal to the ex-president himself, rather than the party.

Israel's largest healthcare provider reported a 94% drop in symptomatic COVID-19 infections among 600,000 people who received two doses of the Pfizer's vaccine in the country's biggest study to date.
"It shows unequivocally that Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine is extremely effective in the real world a week after the second dose, just as it was found to be in the clinical study," said Ran Balicer, Clalit's chief innovation officer.
He added that the data indicates the Pfizer vaccine, is even more effective two weeks or more after the second shot.
Researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science, who have been tabulating national data, said on Sunday that a sharp decline in hospitalisation and serious illness identified earlier among the first age group to be vaccinated - aged 60 or older.
Hospitalisation and serious illness were still rising in younger groups who began vaccinations weeks later.

Lawyers...

Every time the Congress' Managers present a case against Donald Trump, they ran into a problem. They march in proud of their expertise in the law and whatever they think it is a slam dunk. Then they ran into qualified lawyers and more importantly, someone who explain the law to them.

They do realize that they aren't much deferent than the accused except of who has the power and what to do to show it.  Just a thought.

All of a sudden, they realize that whatever they had is just mostly hate.

Did any body changed his mind?. So all this talk by the Managers and the defense is designed to impress who?

The managers are looking for a name recognition. The lawyers are looking for what they are looking for. Just a thought
