Pipelines..

German chancellor Olaf Scholz has welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump's plans for more oil and gas exports, saying it was "good for Europe and Germany," German newspaper Handelsblatt reported on Sunday.

More supply on the global market means lower energy prices," the chancellor said.
Scholz praised Trump for wanting to build new terminals for liquefied natural gas (LNG), something his predecessor Joe Biden did not do. Scholz said he was always opposed to stopping the expansion of LNG terminals in the United States.

Also cancelled Nord stream 2, which would take gas from the Russian Arctic under the Baltic Sea to Germany, which was already more than 95% complete.

The Ukraine bombed and destroyed Nord stream 1.

Both a Mediterranean-style diet and a vegan diet can help stave off heart disease, but the latter is more affordable, according to a small study published Nov. 4. 2024, in JAMA Network Open.
The study included 62 people randomly assigned to follow a low-fat vegan diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, grains, and beans or a Mediterranean diet, which focused on fruits, vegetables, legumes, fish, low-fat dairy, and extra-virgin olive oil.
After 16 weeks, they resumed their regular diet for a month before switching to the opposite diet for another 16 weeks. To estimate food costs, researchers relied on participants' diet records, which were linked to a federal database of national food prices based on the consumer price index.
On average, the vegan diet cut food costs by 19% compared with a standard American diet that included animal products. The Mediterranean diet was slightly more expensive (about 60 cents more per day) than the standard American diet.
Following a vegan diet could save nearly over $900 per year compared with a Mediterranean diet, according to the study authors.

See..

Florida..

Over the last several years, some ice and snow events have hit as far south as central Florida. In late January 2007, an ice storm glazed many surfaces and shut down roads in the Florida Panhandle.

This was the third winter storm in five years that affected the Tallahassee area. A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain coated elevated surfaces from Palm Bay to Kissimmee, Florida as well.

Left Me..

Eric Adams  :People often say 'well you don't sound like you're a Democrat and you seem to have left the party.'

No, the party left me and the party left working-class people.

And our conversations that we should be talking about are not the issues that everyday people, that are in power are talking about," he said.

Adams claims federal prosecutors targeted him because of his criticism of former President Joe Biden's handling of the migrant crisis.

On Board..

Three New York Police Department commanders were arrested on Monday, along with a Brooklyn businessman, on federal corruption charges linked to one of several continuing investigations into Mayor Bill de Blasio’s campaign fund-raising.

The arrests were one of the most significant roundups of police supervisors in the recent history of the department — a deputy chief and a deputy inspector accused of accepting expensive gifts from two politically connected businessmen who prosecutors say were seeking illicit favors from the police.

In court papers unsealed on Monday, federal agents describe how the two men, who are at the center of one of the City Hall fund-raising inquiries, showered gifts on senior police officials: jewelry for the police inspector’s wife; a video game system for the chief’s children; tickets to Brooklyn Nets games; hotel rooms in Rome and Chicago; even a private-jet flight to Las Vegas, with a prostitute on board.

Just a thought.

Until..

President Joe Biden on Monday issued preemptive pardons to potential targets of the incoming Trump administration, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley and lawmakers who served on the House Jan. 6 Committee.

ABC News reported in early December that Biden was considering such an action, days after he issued a full pardon for his son, Hunter Biden.

In an exit interview with USA Today earlier this month, Biden signaled he was still wrestling with the decision.

Some Democrats argued against preemptive pardons, including Sen. Adam Schiff, who served on the House Jan. 6 committee.
