Conflict..

In a conversation with The EconomistHenry Kissinger, who will be 100 this month, warns that China and America are “on the path” to confrontation.

“Both sides have convinced themselves that the other represents a strategic danger,” he says.

The stakes could not be higher: both are nuclear-armed. Both are also dabbling with unpredictable artificial intelligence

The elder statesmen worries that, just as before the first world war, the superpowers will stumble into catastrophe.

Is Biden and Pelosi doctrine are at the helm to create conflict with China after Russia? Just a thought.

Sexed Up..

The British government released a once-secret draft document that was drawn up to justify going to war in Iraq, succumbing to three years of pressure from freedom of information campaigners.
The 32-page document, written by a former director of communications at the Foreign Office, cites intelligence sources to state that Iraq had stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons and could easily use them since it had done so before.
Yet the document, amended in the margins, makes no mention of Saddam Hussein being capable of launching weapons of mass destruction within 45 minutes, a false claim later used in another government dossier to make the case for going to war.
The much-disputed 45-minute threat was made in what came to be known as the “dodgy dossier”, a document the BBC subsequently alleged was “sexed up” to make the case for war stronger.

Compete..

The US White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, said that America will not stop other countries from choosing partners to trade with. She emphasized that the US is focused on trading with all countries and won’t interfere in their internal affairs.

US policy does not ask our partners to choose between the United States and other countries. We have repeatedly emphasized that the US does not want to limit countries’ partnerships with other countries. But we want countries to have choices on how to deliver results to their citizens as well,” she said.

Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said that Berlin is not worried about BRICS expansion. She stressed that all countries are free to forge alliances according to their national interests.

We do have a policy of not interfering...huh? Just a thought.

Misguided. .

The US and European leaders seem to be using the ‘democracy versus authoritarianism’ discourse as a way to raise the stakes of the war and to generate political and moral support from their people.

Yet, regarding it as a battle between democracy and authoritarianism is misguided.

Furthermore, arguments emphasising the democratic nature of Ukraine could end up giving ammunition to those who point out the high levels of corruption in the country and cases of mistreatment of the Russian-speaking population in the Donbas region, despite Russia’s claims of genocide being groundless.

Since the war began, the Biden administration and the U.S. Congress have directed more than $75 billion in assistance to Ukraine, which includes humanitarian, financial, and military support. Mainly Military. Just a thought.

Leadership..

The relationship between President Joe Biden’s White House and Eric Adams began breaking down in private months earlier than previously known – and long before the New York mayor started publicly blasting the president over the migrant crisis in his city.

“There’s no leadership here,” Adams told a group of Biden aides last October in the chief of staff’s office, demanding the president do more to help his city handle a massive influx of migrants.

The issue is one of the most sensitive issues for the White House, and for Biden’s reelection campaign.

They were doing everything they could at the White House to lead without Congress pitching in, they said. Biden had done more than any previous president and much of what Adams was asking for would either require congressional action or would likely immediately be challenged in court.

Biden done more than any other president to create Inflation, increase prices of gasoline  and achieve food shortage "is going to be real" he said,  Just a thought.

Flush..

In a recent study published earlier this year, scientists found that using sleeping pills to get some shut-eye could reduce the build-up of toxic clumps of proteins in fluid that washes the brain clean every night.

Researchers think promoting sleep could be one avenue to stave off Alzheimer's disease, by allowing the sleeping brain to flush itself of leftover proteins and the day's other waste products.

The study spanned just two nights and involved 38 middle-aged participants who showed no signs of cognitive impairment and had no sleep issues.

Dismissed..

President of Ukraine fired a slew of senior officials at the start of the year over a scandal linked to the procurement of wartime supplies.  The country’s deputy defense minister resigned after facing allegations of corruption; then in August, Zelensky dismissed all officials in charge of regional military recruitment centers, citing numerous ongoing criminal proceedings.
This is the latest setback for the Ukrainian military, which has been grappling with allegations of widespread corruption.
Defense Minister reportedly came close to dismissed earlier over purchases at inflated prices for the $350 million catering contract in question.
President Biden said They are fighting for Democracy!!!?? It's all perhaps known for a long time and is in classified documents.

Lawless..

Image is not related.

Israel is considering tough steps including the immediate deportation of Eritrean asylum seekers involved in riots in Tel Aviv.

Some 170 people were injured in violent clashes with police and in-fighting between groups of supporters and opponents of the Eritrean regime.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said "a red line" had been crossed. He also ordered a new plan to remove all African migrants that he described as "illegal infiltrators".

Israeli police - several dozen of whom were among the injured - said they felt their lives were at risk.

There were also dramatic street battles between large crowds of Eritreans armed with pieces of wood, metal and rocks. As well as attacking each other, they smashed shop windows and cars.

Trade..

Following the landmark BRICS expansion, India has ditched the US dollar in what is a historic oil deal with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In fact, India has purchased 1 million barrels of oil in rupees from the UAE, marking another significant step in the economic alliance’s de-dollarization efforts.

The UAE became a member of the bloc following last week’s 2023 summit. Specifically, it joined Saudi Arabia, Iran, Argentina, Ethiopia, and Egypt as the newest members of the expanded alliance. Now, the historic deal marks a notable trade between the two member states.

Saudi Arabia, a key trader of oil globally, should present a very important aspect of this equation. Especially considering that the United States had recently urged the country to continue settling in the greenback. Conversely, its inclusion in the BRICS will likely lead to action similar.

This action will limit greatly the effect of US Sanctions or using the dollars and the sanctions as weapon against many poor countries renders the countries economies devastated.
