Back again...

The United States launched airstrikes in Syria on Thursday, targeting facilities near the Iraqi border used by Iranian-backed militia groups. The Pentagon said the strikes were retaliation for a rocket attack in Iraq earlier this month that killed one civilian contractor and wounded a U.S. service member and other coalition troops.

We said a number of times that we will respond on our timeline,” Austin said. "We wanted to be sure of the connectivity and we wanted to be sure that we had the right targets.”

Earlier, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the U.S. action was a “proportionate military response” taken together with diplomatic measures, including consultation with coalition partners.

Mr. Biden can't resist invading another country to bomb a target.

S. B-1B Lancers arrived in Norway on Monday to take part in a "long-planned training mission" and marked the first time these bombers operated out of the European country, a statement from the U.S. Air Force said.

"Training with allies like Norway enables us to hone our deterrence and defense capabilities while also enhancing regional stability," Gen. Jeff Harrigian, the U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa commander said, according to the statement.

The planes flew from Dyess Air Force Base in Texas and arrived at Ørland Air Station, which is in the central part of the country. The move has been seen by some military experts as a clear message to Moscow.

That is back into threatening other countries by military might.  Same old, same old.

America is becoming a "totalitarian state before our eyes" under President Biden's leadership, feminist author and former Democratic adviser Naomi Wolf told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Monday.

Wolf, who served as an adviser on Bill Clinton's reelection campaign in 1996, told host Tucker Carlson that in her view, the United States is swiftly "moving into a coup situation, a police state" as a result of Biden's ongoing coronavirus-related economic shutdowns. Wolf added that she believes the orders are being improperly extended under the "guise of a real medical pandemic."

"That is not a partisan thing," Wolf told Carlson. "That transcends everything that you and I might disagree or agree on. That should bring together left and right to protect our Constitution."

Senator Mitt Romney of Utah said on Tuesday that he believed Donald J. Trump would win the Republican nomination for president if he ran for his former office in 2024, another indication of Mr. Trump’s perceived strength in the party.

Mr. Romney noted that “a lot can happen between now and 2024,” but he added, “I look at the polls, and the polls show that among the names being floated as potential contenders in 2024, if you put President Trump in there among Republicans, he wins in a landslide.”

Mr. Romney, the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, is the sole Republican senator who voted to convict Mr. Trump at both of his impeachment trials. He lost the respect of his party altogether.

Mr. Romney’s comments were a clear sign of Mr. Trump’s enduring position in the Republican Party.

“He has by far the largest voice and a big impact in my party,” Mr. Romney said.
