Deputy Dustin Byers with the 4th District recently stopped a driver for speeding on Highway 21.

The man explained he was on his way to a funeral and was having a tough day. To top it off, he couldn’t get his tie right.

Without hesitation, Deputy Byers helped him out…not just with the knot, but with a moment of kindness he won’t forget. REMINDER: compassion still exists, even on the side of the road.”

Balloons..

SIX Americans have been detained for allegedly trying to float more than 1,600 bottles stuffed with rice, tiny Bibles, dollar bills, and USB drives to North Korea.

South Korean police say the group was caught before they could launch the bottles into the water.

Authorities said the bottles were meant to drift across the sea and wash ashore in North Korea.

The group is now under investigation for possibly violating safety and disaster management laws, per The Associated Press.

Balloons and bottles have often been used to carry leaflets, money and entertainment media, including South Korean dramas and K-pop.

In 2024, the regime launched its own wave of balloons into the South — filled with trash.

Some of that garbage even landed at the South Korean presidential office.

Trouble..

New York Democrat and House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries called the slogan “globalize the intifada” not “acceptable phrasing” when asked about the controversy surrounding the winner of the New York City Democratic mayoral primary, last week, seemingly unsatisfied with the candidate’s answers on the subject to date.

Jeffries was asked about several controversial subjects related to self-declared Democratic-Socialist Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani declined to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada” when asked about it, and has since been pressed on that and other comments related to Israel and ant-Semitism in several settings, with no clear answer.
Comment:
What will happen if people didn't get the right answer from this candidate?

Radicals..

Embittered Chris Cuomo railed against the “radical left” and declared the Democratic party “dead” following his brother Andrew Cuomo’s loss in the New York City mayoral primary.
The younger Cuomo fumed about “extremism” during a Wednesday night monologue on his NewsNation show, claiming that Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani’s stunning election win was a sign that Democrats are in “MAGA mode.”
In the same way MAGA played with the prejudices of white nationalism, you’re seeing an identical dynamic on the Left with prejudices, like tacitly supporting extreme Islamism or targeting Jews,” he explained.
“For the Right, it’s migrants. And for the Left, it’s Jews. It’s fundamentalist Christians dominating the Right, and fundamentalist Islamists making headway on the Left.
I know that doesn’t sound like Democrats, but the party is dead. What it will be reborn as we will see.”  Just a thought.

Drink..

According to new research by Doctor Mark Hyman, your drink might be making you hungrier without you even realizing it. And it could be the reason you're gaining weight.

Even though the artificial sweetener sucralose is calorie-free, that doesn't mean it's harmless. He said: "A new brain imaging study found that it activates the brain's hunger center more than sugar, driving cravings rather than reducing them."

The real-time brain imaging study examined 75 healthy adults who consumed either water, a sugar tablet (sucrose), or sucralose - the zero-calorie sweetener commonly found in diet drinks. Calling the results "striking", the health expert noted that sucralose triggered an "increased hunger at the neurological level."

Sucralose had stronger effects on:

  • People with obesity
  • Women
  • People who have a lower insulin sensitivity

Dems..

Nearly 200 House Democrats voted against a resolution condemning the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles earlier this month.

The resolution was led by Rep. Young Kim, R-Calif. 215 members of the House of Representatives, which included seven House Democrats, voted in favor of the resolution.

Peaceful protests are a constitutional right, but vandalism, looting, violence, and other crimes are not.

Tooth Decay..

Grim .

Veteran strategist James Carville warned how democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani winning the New York City mayoral primary may be a burden for the Democratic Party.

Mamdani, a Ugandan-born New York State Assemblyman from Queens, to become the Democratic Party’s nominee for New York City mayor.

Republicans and some Democrats have blasted Mamdani, warning he is a grim sign of America’s political future.

Carville has been speaking about the Democratic Party’s need to ditch far-left politics since well before the 2024 election. He spoke about Mamdani's surprising victory on his podcast, warning it may be yet another hurdle for struggling Democrats.

Peace..

Fordow..

Iran's Fordow nuclear facility, buried beneath a mountain near the city of Qom, has become a focus of global military attention following the most recent Israeli airstrikes.

It is one of the most heavily fortified military sites in the world, and its resilience highlights a broader pattern: nations around the world have built underground bases to shield key military infrastructure from attack.

Fordow is dug half a mile underground, lined with reinforced concrete, and surrounded by air defenses. It was built to survive a direct air strike and keep functioning.

Comment:

It is hard to think that the nuclear program built underground, hidden 300 feet underground is for peaceful purposes.

Buster..

President Trump disputed an early intelligence report from the Pentagon that found the airstrikes he ordered on Iran had only a limited impact on its nuclear program.

The attacks caused “total obliteration,” he said, while satellite imagery fails to provide conclusive evidence of deep penetration.

And in a surprise announcement that appears to undermine years of US sanctions on Iran, Trump gave China the green light to buy Iranian oil.

Comment:

The Iranian defense was eliminated. The air superiority belongs to Israel and anyone who is to go over.

The Iranian military leaders killed. The regime propaganda evaporated.
The lesson and the writing on the wall were clear.

It's time to change direction.  And let the hater say anything.  Just a thought.

Tied..

Authorities in Spain are investigating after discovering multiple bodies in the Mediterranean Sea. Police noted that the hands and feet of the bodies had been tied, which indicates that there may have been some sort of struggle.

Diario de Mallorca reports that boats have found at least five bodies with bound feet and hands since the middle of May. Police believe the victims may be migrants from northern Africa.

Authorities say the migrants could have been tied and thrown into the water during their attempts to cross the border into Europe, and the deaths are being investigated as homicides.

Regional president Marga Prohens said that the unfortunate discoveries highlight "the cruelest side" of the migration route many take between continents.

Autopen..

A former top aide to President Joe Biden said she was authorized to direct autopen signatures but was unaware of who in the president's inner circle was giving her final clearance, according to a source familiar with the aide's closed-door testimony in front of Congress Tuesday.
Neera Tanden, the former director of Biden's Domestic Policy Council, testified for hours Tuesday during an interview in front of the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating the former president's mental acuity and his use of an automatic signature tool that allowed aides to sign pardons, memos and other important documents on Biden's behalf.
Tanden's interview before Congress lasted more than five hours.
Just a "forgetful" thought.

Struck Down..

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed Friday with a San Diego federal judge who found that California's law that barred buying more than one gun per month was unconstitutional.
The law, which was struck down by U.S. District Judge William Hayes in March of last year, was intended to cut down on what's known as straw purchases, in which someone legally buys a gun, then gives it to someone else who is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Both Hayes and a 9th Circuit panel agreed, with their findings applying the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen, which holds that gun laws should be consistent with the nation's historical tradition of firearm regulations.

Ceasefire .

President Donald Trump said on social media Monday that a ceasefire deal has been reached between Israel and Iran, just after Iran launched a missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar.
Neither Israel or Iran have confirmed if they have agreed to the ceasefire deal.
The president’s post was written hours after Iran launched the missiles, that targeted the Al Udeid Air Base, in retaliation for the American bombing of Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend.
The president said in the post that the ceasefire would take place just after midnight U.S. eastern time Tuesday, followed by the official end of the war, 12 hours later.
The war began on June 13 when Israel launched a series of attacks on Iran’s nuclear and military facilities.

Notice..

President Trump said Monday the Iranian government offered "early notice" about a series of missile strikes that targeted the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, downplaying Iran's response to the U.S. bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend as "very weak."

"I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured," Mr. Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

Poll..

CNN polling has indicated that Republicans now hold a clear advantage with voters on economic issues. Economic concerns, especially about inflation and recession, have increasingly shaped public opinion and party preferences. Voters now see only 16% of Democrats as strong leaders.
Reuters/Ipsos polls show the Republican lead is growing. Republicans are expected to hold an advantage as the party is viewed as better on economic matters.
CNN polling analyst Harry Enten said, “How is it possible after all the recession fears? After the stock market’s been doing all of this, after all the tariffs that Americans are against and Republicans still hold an eight-point lead on the economy? Are you kidding me!?”

Reaching .

In reaching Iran, Israeli aircraft would likely fly over the airspace of several countries situated between Israel and Iran, including Syria and Iraq.

Airspace Transit: Israeli aircraft would have to fly through the airspace of countries located between Israel and Iran, with Syria and Iraq being the most probable routes.

Air Superiority: Israel's success in reaching Iran suggests a significant degree of air superiority over the region.

Air Defense Suppression: Israel has conducted strikes aimed at degrading Iranian air defense systems, including S-300 batteries, likely facilitating access to Iranian airspace.

Refueling Missions: The considerable distance between Israel and Iran (around 1,400 miles) necessitates mid-air refueling for long-range operations, which are supported by squadrons like the "Desert Giants".

International Reactions: The ongoing conflict has led to disruptions in airspace usage, with airlines diverting flights and some countries implementing restrictions.

All the Way..

On the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz endorsed Israel's attack on Iran in an interview with public broadcaster ZDF. He said, “This is the dirty work that Israel is doing for all of us. I can only say that I have the utmost respect for the Israeli army and the Israeli leadership for having had the courage to do this.”
In another interview with the ARD public broadcaster, Merz advocated violent regime change in Tehran. “It would be good if this regime came to an end,” he said. If the Iranian regime is not prepared to enter into talks,
This regime is very weakened and will probably not return to its former strength, making the future of the country uncertain. We will have to wait and see,” he says.
He adds that the Europeans’ offer of diplomatic assistance, should talks resume, still stands as it did before the attacks.
“If a new situation were to arise, Germany, France and the United Kingdom would again be prepared to provide diplomatic assistance, as they were until last Thursday,” he says.

New..

A team of chemical engineers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has invented a new process to separate crude oil components, potentially bringing forward a replacement that can cut its harmful carbon pollution by 90%.

The original technique, uses heat to separate crude oil into gasoline, diesel, and heating oil.

Instead of boiling mixtures to purify them, why not separate components based on shape and size?" said Zachary P. Smith, associate professor of chemical engineering at MIT and senior author of the study, per Interesting Engineering.

The team invented a polymer membrane that divides crude oil into its various uses like a sieve.

The new process follows a similar strategy used by the water industry for desalination, which uses reverse osmosis membranes and has been around since the 1970s.
